Mat Pilates
Small movements, deep strength
Exact, patient core work on the mat, taught by a physiotherapist. Good for backs, posture and anyone who sits all day.
Why mat Pilates
It looks gentle. You will feel it tomorrow.
Deep core
We work the muscles that hold you up, not just the ones you can see.
Kind to backs
Clara is a physiotherapist, so every exercise has an easier version.
Twelve places
Small enough for hands-on corrections in every class.

How a mat class runs
1
Warm up
Breathing and gentle spine work to find your center.
2
Build
Slow, controlled sequences for the core, hips and shoulders.
3
Add props
Bands, balls and rings make the work harder or easier as you need.
4
Stretch
We finish by lengthening everything we just worked.
Mat Pilates FAQ
Before you book
What is the difference between Pilates and yoga?
Yoga links breath and posture, often with a spiritual root. Pilates is an exercise method built around core control and precise repetition. Many students do both.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes, every exercise has levels and Clara will show you where to start.
What should I wear?
Fitted, comfortable clothes so your teacher can see your alignment. Bare feet or grip socks.
Should I do mat or reformer first?
Either works. Mat is the cheaper way in; the reformer gives you more support.
